Earlier construction companies installed Coarse and fine screens on the dam to prevent trees and other trash from going to the power house. These were damaged in year 2000 during heavy floods. These were replaced by us by new system of screen during this project from 2006 to 2010.

Key Features

Two power houses were erected on the same pond and dam. One of the power house was damaged due to floods however the second power was wrong. The owners wanted to operate running power house while rehabilitation of damaged screens hence the rehabilitation work should be carried without drying the pond.

The new screens were designed, fabricated and erection in “under water” conditions

Challenge

Cleaning of silts and rubble in pond water were to be removed. Screen erection was to be done under water

Solution

 Special sand pumps mounted on boat were developed and used. Special air venturies were fabricated to suck out left over silt and stone even upto 50 Kg weight.

Outcome

The entire job was completed successfully and the damaged power house was started successfully.
